방탄소년단 멤버 여러분께,
저는 평소에 제 생각과 신념에 대해 항상 솔직하게 이야기해 왔어요. 요즘 우리는 잘못된 정보와 사실 조작, 왜곡된 이야기들이 넘쳐나는 세상에 살고 있고, 여러분을 좋아하는 팬들 역시 이런 일에 노출되어 있어요. 물론 모든 팬을 대표해서 하는 말은 아니에요.
여러분이 머물고 있는 호텔에서 일어난 일도 바로 그런 경우 중 하나라고 생각해요.
여러분의 팬덤이 워낙 크고, 여러분도 많은 인파에 익숙하다는 건 사실이에요. 하지만 우리 대부분은 일부 사람들이 호텔 밖에서 소음을 일으키고 있었다는 사실을 전혀 몰랐어요. 그 일 때문에 여러분과 스태프분들이 잠을 제대로 자지 못했다는 소식을 듣고 정말 미안한 마음이 들었어요. 그래서 팬 단체 채팅방에서는 팬들에게 호텔에 찾아가는 것을 자제하고, 특히 밤늦게까지 호텔 근처에 머무르지 말아 달라는 메시지를 올렸어요.
그 메시지는 팬들에게 잘 전달됐고, 다음 날 아침에는 호텔 앞에 사람들이 모여 있지 않은 것을 볼 수 있었어요. 그 모습을 보고 정말 기뻤어요.
그런데 바로 어제, 여러분을 위한 드론 쇼가 예정되어 있었어요. 일곱 명 모두를 위한 저녁 8시 쇼와 자정 쇼가 각각 계획되어 있었어요. 오후 6시쯤부터, 어쩌면 그보다 더 일찍부터였을 수도 있지만, 미라플로레스의 라르코마르 주변과 가까운 바랑코 지역 양쪽에 사람들이 모이기 시작했어요.
여러분이 보기에는 사람들이 일부러 그렇게 모인 것처럼 보였을 수도 있다고 생각해요. 바로 그 점이 저희에게는 안타까운 부분이에요. 제 생각에는 몇 가지 일이 겹쳤던 것 같아요.
1. ARMY Peru는 행사의 규모를 제대로 예상하지 못했던 것 같아요. 그렇게 많은 사람이 모여 교통이 마비될 정도가 될 줄도, 많은 사람들이 몇 시간씩 그곳에 머물 줄도 예상하지 못했던 것 같아요.
2. 솔직하게 말씀드리고 싶어요. 페루는 부유한 나라가 아니고, 이런 무료 행사는 흔하지 않아요. 특히 여러분을 위한 행사라면 더더욱 그래요. 제 생각에는 리마에서 멀리 떨어진 지역에 사는 사람들도 친구나 가족과 함께 즐거운 시간을 보내고 멋진 행사를 보고 싶어서 찾아온 경우가 많았을 거예요. 게다가 제가 알기로는 ARMY Peru가 드론 쇼 비용을 부담했기 때문에 사람들은 무료로 그 행사를 즐길 수 있었어요.
3. 정말 멋진 아이디어였지만, 어쩌면 다른 장소를 제안할 수도 있었을 것 같아요. 그래도 라르코마르와 호텔 주변이 드론 쇼를 감상하기에 좋은 장소라고 생각해서 그곳을 선택했을 것 같아요.
4. 우리는 여러분의 영향력이 얼마나 큰지, 또 얼마나 많은 사람들이 모일지를 제대로 예상하지 못했던 것 같아요. 정말 믿기 어려울 정도로 많은 사람들이 모였어요.
5. 그곳에 오는 사람들 중에는 실제 팬이 아닌 사람들도 있어요. 콘텐츠 크리에이터나 블로거, 또는 비슷한 활동을 하는 사람들이에요. 이런 사람들은 틱톡이나 다른 플랫폼을 통해 행사를 실시간으로 중계하면서 돈을 벌기도 해요.
마지막으로, 제가 이 모든 이야기를 전하는 이유는 일어난 일을 정당화하려는 것이 아니라, 당시 상황과 그 뒤에 있었던 일들을 여러분이 조금 더 이해할 수 있도록 돕고 싶기 때문이라는 점을 알아주셨으면 해요.
여러분의 입장에서는 이전에 있었던 일 이후에도 호텔 근처에 그렇게 많은 사람들이 모여 있는 모습을 보고, 여러분의 평온함과 휴식이 존중받지 못하고 있다고 느끼셨을 수도 있을 것 같아요. 여러분과 스태프분들이 그런 상황을 겪으셔야 했다는 점이 진심으로 안타까워요.
하지만 꼭 말씀드리고 싶은 중요한 점이 하나 있어요. 남준 씨가 전한 메시지는 팬들에게 제대로 전달되었고, 팬들도 그 메시지를 이해했어요. 팬들이 일부러 그 메시지를 무시하거나 여러분이 어떤 기분이었는지 신경 쓰지 않았던 것은 아니에요. 드론 쇼는 이미 몇 달 전부터 계획되어 있었고, 많은 아미들의 후원으로 비용도 미리 지불된 상태였어요. 그래서 행사 당일이 되었을 때는 많은 사람들이 오랜 시간과 노력을 들여 준비한 행사를 보러 갈 생각에 이미 기대하고 있었어요.
저는 이 차이를 이해하는 것이 중요하다고 생각해요. 드론 쇼를 보기 위해 모인 사람들이 오히려 잘못된 인상을 주었을 수도 있기 때문이에요. 겉으로 보기에는 사람들이 여러분의 말을 무시하는 것처럼 보였을 수도 있지만, 실제로는 이미 예정되어 있던 행사에 참석한 것이었어요. 그렇다고 해서 많은 인파가 끼친 영향이나 그로 인해 발생한 불편함이 중요하지 않다는 뜻은 아니에요. 다만 여러분의 입장에서는 알기 어려웠을 수도 있는 상황과 배경이 있었다는 점을 말씀드리고 싶어요.
팬들이 여러분을 사랑하고 응원하는 마음이 여러분의 휴식이나 사생활, 건강과 행복보다 앞서서는 안 된다는 것을 알고 있어요. 여러분을 사랑하고 응원한다는 것은 여러분의 경계를 존중하고, 여러분 가까이에 있고 싶은 마음이 아무리 크더라도 여러분에게도 평온함과 개인적인 공간이 필요하다는 것을 이해하는 일이기도 해요.
우리는 여러분을 만나기 위해 오랜 세월을 기다려 왔어요. 어떤 팬들은 저보다 훨씬 더 오랫동안 여러분을 직접 만나기를 기다려 왔을 거예요. 저는 여러분이 콜드플레이와 함께한 곡 〈My Universe〉를 통해 방탄소년단을 알게 되었어요. 그래서 마침내 여러분이 페루에 와 주셨다는 사실은 정말 많은 사람에게 큰 의미가 있어요. 그 설렘 뒤에는 오랜 시간 쌓아 온 애정과 추억, 그리고 아주 잠깐이라도 여러분과 특별한 순간을 함께하고 싶다는 간절한 바람이 담겨 있어요.
진심으로, 여러분이 당시 무슨 일이 있었는지 조금 더 잘 이해해 주셨으면 해요. 그리고 이번 경험 때문에 페루 팬들이 일부러 여러분을 불편하게 만들려고 했다고 생각하지 않으셨으면 좋겠어요. 제가 모든 팬을 대표해서 말할 수는 없지만, 진심으로 여러분을 사랑하고 응원하며 여러분이 페루에서 보낸 시간이 아름다운 추억으로 남기를 바라는 팬들이 많다는 것은 꼭 말씀드리고 싶어요.
무엇보다 이번이 여러분이 페루에 오시는 처음이자 마지막이 아니었으면 좋겠어요. 다음 콘서트 때도 다시 여러분을 맞이할 기회가 있기를 바라요. 여러분의 평온함과 사생활을 존중하면서도 저희의 사랑을 보여 드리고, 여러분과 함께 행복한 추억을 만들 기회를 다시 얻을 수 있으면 좋겠어요.

Dear BTS members,
You know that I’ve always been honest when sharing what I think and believe. Nowadays, we live in a world full of misinformation, manipulation of facts, and distorted narratives, and your fans are exposed to these things too. Of course, I’m not speaking on behalf of everyone.
I believe that what has happened at the hotel where you’re staying is one such case.
It’s true that you have a huge fanbase and that you’re used to large crowds. However, most of us had no idea that some people were making noise outside your hotel. We were really sorry to learn that you and your staff hadn’t been able to sleep properly because of this. In response, fan groups posted messages in their WhatsApp groups asking fans to avoid going to the hotel and, especially, not to stay near it late at night.
The message was well received, and the following morning, we saw that there were no crowds gathered outside the hotel. That made us really happy.
However, yesterday, two drone shows had been planned for you: one at 8 p.m. for all seven of you, and another at midnight. From around 6 p.m., or perhaps even earlier, people began gathering both around Larcomar in Miraflores and in nearby Barranco.
From your perspective, I can imagine how this might have looked deliberate, and that’s what we feel sorry about. I think several things came together to create this situation.
1. ARMY Peru didn’t seem to have fully anticipated the scale of the event. They didn’t expect so many people to show up that traffic would come to a standstill, nor did they expect so many people to stay there for hours.
2. I want to be honest: Peru isn’t a wealthy country, and free events like this aren’t common, especially when they’re dedicated to you. I genuinely think that many people who live in areas far from Lima came simply because they wanted to enjoy a wonderful event with their friends and family. On top of that, as far as I understand, people were able to enjoy the event for free because ARMY Peru covered the cost of the drone show.
3. Although it was a wonderful idea, perhaps another location could have been suggested. Still, I imagine they chose that area because they thought both Larcomar and the hotel surroundings would offer an interesting view of the drone show.
4. I think we underestimated just how much influence you have and how many people would show up. The number of people who gathered was truly incredible.
5. Some of the people who attend these events aren’t actually fans. They’re content creators, bloggers, or people involved in similar activities. They use TikTok and other platforms to livestream events and make money from them.
To conclude, I want you to know that my reason for sharing all of this is not to justify what happened, but to help you better understand the situation at the time and the circumstances behind it.
I understand that, from your perspective, seeing so many people gathered near your hotel after what had happened previously might have made you feel that your peace and your need for rest were not being respected. I am truly sorry that you and your staff had to go through that experience.
However, there is something important I want to clarify: Namjoon’s message did reach the fans and was understood. It was not that fans deliberately decided to ignore it or that they did not care about how you were feeling. The drone show had already been planned months in advance and had been paid for ahead of time thanks to contributions from many ARMYs. So, when the day of the event arrived, many people were already excited about attending something that had taken so much time and effort to prepare.
I think it is important to understand this distinction because the crowd that gathered to watch the drone show may have given the wrong impression. From the outside, it might have seemed as though people were ignoring what you had expressed, when in reality, they were attending an event that had already been scheduled. This does not mean that the impact of the crowd or the inconvenience it caused should be dismissed. It simply means there were circumstances and background details that might not have been easy to understand from your perspective.
I know that fans’ love and support should never come before your rest, privacy, health, or happiness. Loving and supporting you also means respecting your boundaries and understanding that, no matter how much we wish to be close to you, you also need peace and personal space.
We have waited many years for you. Some fans have been waiting to meet you in person for much longer than I have. In my case, I got to know you through My Universe, the song you made with Coldplay. That is why your finally coming to Peru means so much to so many people. Behind all that excitement are years of affection, memories, and an enormous hope of sharing a special moment with you, even if only for a brief time.
From the bottom of my heart, I hope you can better understand what happened and that this experience will not make you think that Peruvian fans deliberately wanted to make you uncomfortable. I cannot speak on behalf of everyone, but I do want you to know that many fans genuinely love and support you and want your time in Peru to become a beautiful memory.
Above all, I hope this will not be the first and last time you come to Peru. I hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back for another concert, show you our love in a way that also respects your peace and privacy, and create more happy memories with you.

Saben que siempre he sido sincera al hablar de lo que pienso y creo. Hoy en día vivimos en un mundo lleno de desinformación, manipulación de los hechos e historias distorsionadas, y sus fans también están expuestos a estas cosas. Por supuesto, no hablo en nombre de todos.
Creo que lo que ha sucedido en el hotel donde ustedes se hospedan es precisamente uno de estos casos.
Es cierto que tienen una enorme base de fans y que están acostumbrados a las grandes multitudes. Sin embargo, la mayoría de nosotros no teníamos idea de que algunas personas estaban haciendo ruido afuera del hotel. Nos apenó mucho enterarnos de que ustedes y el staff no habían podido dormir bien a causa de esto. Por eso, los grupos de fans publicaron mensajes en sus grupos de WhatsApp pidiendo a los fans que evitaran ir al hotel y, especialmente, que no se quedaran cerca de él hasta altas horas de la noche.
El mensaje fue bien recibido y, a la mañana siguiente, vimos que ya no había grandes grupos de personas reunidas afuera del hotel. Eso nos alegró mucho.
Sin embargo, ayer se habían organizado dos espectáculos de drones para ustedes: uno a las 8 p. m. para los siete y otro a la medianoche. Desde aproximadamente las 6 p. m., o quizás incluso antes, la gente comenzó a reunirse tanto en los alrededores de Larcomar, en Miraflores, como en el cercano distrito de Barranco.
Desde su perspectiva, puedo imaginar que esto pudo parecer intencional, y eso es lo que lamentamos. Creo que varios factores se combinaron para crear esta situación.
1. ARMY Perú parece no haber previsto plenamente la magnitud que tendría el evento. No esperaba que acudiera tanta gente como para que el tránsito quedara paralizado, ni tampoco que tantas personas se quedaran allí durante horas.
2. Quiero ser sincera: Perú no es un país rico y este tipo de eventos gratuitos no son comunes, especialmente cuando están dedicados a ustedes. Pienso sinceramente que muchas personas que viven en zonas alejadas de Lima vinieron simplemente porque querían disfrutar de un evento maravilloso con sus amigos y familiares. Además, según tengo entendido, las personas pudieron disfrutar del evento de forma gratuita porque ARMY Perú cubrió el costo del espectáculo de drones.
3. Aunque fue una idea maravillosa, quizás se pudo sugerir otro lugar. Aun así, me imagino que eligieron esa zona porque pensaron que tanto Larcomar como los alrededores del hotel ofrecerían una vista interesante del espectáculo de drones.
4. Creo que subestimamos la influencia que tienen y cuánta gente acudiría. La cantidad de personas que se reunió fue realmente increíble.
5. Algunas de las personas que asisten a estos eventos no son realmente fans. Son creadores de contenido, blogueros o personas que realizan actividades similares. Utilizan TikTok y otras plataformas para transmitir los eventos en vivo y ganar dinero con ello.

Por último, quiero que sepan que la razón por la que les cuento todo esto no es para justificar lo que pasó, sino para ayudarles a comprender un poco mejor la situación de entonces y lo que había detrás de ella.
Entiendo que, desde su perspectiva, ver a tantas personas reunidas cerca de su hotel después de lo que había ocurrido anteriormente pudo haberles hecho sentir que no se estaban respetando su tranquilidad ni su necesidad de descansar. Lamento sinceramente que ustedes y el staff hayan tenido que pasar por esa situación.
Sin embargo, hay algo importante que quiero aclararles: el mensaje que Namjoon compartió sí llegó a los fans y fue comprendido. No se trató de que los fans decidieran ignorarlo deliberadamente ni de que no les importara cómo se sentían ustedes. El espectáculo de drones ya se había organizado desde hacía meses y se había pagado por adelantado gracias a las contribuciones de muchos ARMYs. Por eso, cuando llegó el día del evento, muchas personas ya estaban ilusionadas con asistir a algo que se había preparado con tanto tiempo y esfuerzo.
Creo que es importante comprender esta diferencia, porque la multitud que se reunió para ver el espectáculo de drones pudo haber dado una impresión equivocada. Desde fuera, quizá parecía que la gente estaba ignorando lo que ustedes habían expresado, cuando en realidad estaba asistiendo a un evento que ya se había programado. Esto no significa que el impacto de la multitud ni las molestias ocasionadas dejen de ser importantes. Simplemente, había circunstancias y antecedentes que quizá no eran fáciles de conocer desde su perspectiva.
Sé que el amor y el apoyo de los fans nunca deben estar por encima de su descanso, su privacidad, su salud ni su felicidad. Amarlos y animarlos también significa respetar sus límites y comprender que, por mucho que deseemos estar cerca de ustedes, también necesitan tranquilidad y espacio personal.
Los hemos esperado durante muchos años. Algunos fans llevan esperando conocerlos en persona desde hace mucho más tiempo que yo. En mi caso, los conocí a través de la canción My Universe, que hicieron junto con Coldplay. Por eso, que finalmente hayan venido a Perú significa muchísimo para tantas personas. Detrás de toda esa emoción hay años de cariño, recuerdos y una enorme ilusión por compartir con ustedes un momento especial, aunque sea por un instante.
De corazón, espero que puedan comprender un poco mejor lo que sucedió y que esta experiencia no les haga pensar que los fans peruanos quisieron incomodarlos deliberadamente. No puedo hablar en nombre de todos, pero sí quiero decirles que hay muchos fans que los aman y los apoyan sinceramente, y que desean que el tiempo que pasen en Perú se convierta en un hermoso recuerdo.
Sobre todo, espero que esta no sea la primera y la última vez que vengan a Perú. Ojalá tengamos la oportunidad de recibirlos nuevamente en un próximo concierto, demostrarles nuestro amor de una manera que también respete su tranquilidad y su privacidad, y crear más recuerdos felices con ustedes.
